| CATEGORIES OF LICENSE - MEMBERSHIP | ||

Trainers Licenses |
Anyone who is not eligible to be an amateur or juvenile must hold a trainer’s license. |
|

Halter |
Halter
License - A person
who shows at halter any horse for which he/she accepts
remuneration for training weanlings and yearlings for a
person outside of his/her immediate family. NOTE: A
halter license holder may also show amateur in riding
classes. |

A |
A
License members - Must
receive less than 50% of income from training
TWH horses. |
|
|
AA |
AA License
members - Must receive
at least 50% or better of income from training
TWH horses. |
|
|
AAA |
AAA License
members - Must receive 100% of income from
training TWH horses.

MEMBERSHIP - To
hold a Membership one must receive 100% of income from
training horses. |

Advantages of holding a 100% membership: |

1. Receive Trainers License FREE. (You are paying for your membership) |

2. May vote on election of new Officers and new Board of Directors if dues have been paid by March 15, of the present year. |
||
|
3. May vote on Trainer of the Year, Horse of the Year Awards and all items brought before the General Membership if dues have been paid by March 15, of the present year. |
||
|
4. Receive the W.H.T.A. Newsletter - “Straight from the Horses Mouth” and the “Updater” with all news regarding the update of the USDA and all activities of the W.H.T.A. |

|
Associate |
ASSOCIATE
MEMBERSHIP - To hold
an Associate Membership one must not be a Trainer of any
type. |

Advantages of holding an Associate Membership: |

|
1. Invitation to the W.H.T.A. annual Awards Banquet. |
||
|
2. Receive the W.H.T.A. Newsletter - “Straight from the Horses Mouth” and the “Updater” with all news regarding the update of the USDA and all activities of the W.H.T.A. |

|
3. Recognition at the W.H.T.A. Horse Show. |
||
|
Youth Council |
In 1995 a Youth Council Group was
established under the direction of Mr. Benny Johnson. The
first meeting was held March 25, 1995. Their goals for the future
is to learn responsibility for show and exhibiting and learn
versatility. Their membership stands at approximately 100+
members. Applications and membership cards are available at

Scholarship |
The young generation is very important
to the Walking Horse Trainers Association. To support the
educational efforts of those in need, a yearly scholarship fund
was established. This very proactive venture has proved most
worthwhile in helping our future generation progress. This year
the Walking Horse Trainers Association will again award a scholarship(s).
Other supportive projects specifically related to the young people, include: 4-H Youth Projects, Co-Sponsor of the Annual Youth Celebration dance, and past generous donations to the Bedford County Medical Center Pediatric Wing.
