If you have had the opportunity to spend any amount of time around the 2012 Trainer of the Year you know that he is passionate about TWH and his responsibility to the one’s in his care, to their owners, and to the industry as a whole.
Only 32 years of age, this young trainer has amassed show ring accomplishments to rival any veteran of the profession. To be voted Trainer of the Year by his peers is quite a vote of confidence for this year’s recipient of the award … Tim Smith.
After Tim’s first encounter with a dappled pony named Domino, Tim had a career goal…he wanted to train horses.
He received his trainer’s license in 1998 at that time he and he and his dad, Tex opened Cloverleaf Farm in Ardmore, Alabama.
As their business continued to grow, Tim began making a name for himself. Since, 2003, he has earned over 50 reserve world championships, world championships, reserve world grand championships and world grand championships, among them Armed Red Baron, Rainbow of Colors, She’s One Hot Tamale, Jazz Country, Gold Poison, FDR, He’s Bustin’ the Gin, Dirty Sexy Money, The Concealed Weapon, Ritzey Zone, and The Golden Sovereign to name a few.
With so many show ring accomplishments in his resume, it is evident that Tim Smith has made an impact on our industry and will continue to do so in the future.
