Welcome from the Walking Horse Trainers' Auxiliary.

^{We are now in our 34th year. At this time, the Auxiliary is moving in new and exciting directions. We have many goals set for this 2005 year and many that have already been achieved.}

The Walking Horse Trainers' Auxiliary is a national non-profit organization which began in 1971 as the Trainers' Wives Auxiliary. The name and by-laws were changed in 1977 to allow members other than trainers' wives to join. The membership is growing from coast to coast.

Through the years, we have provided opportunities for many worthy causes, including:

• Awarding annual college scholarships

• Sponsorship of all Walking Horse Equitation classes

• Providing volunteers for all projects of the Walking Horse Trainers Association

• Providing assistance and financial support for WHOO (Walking Horses Overcoming Obstacles) through stud fees of our stallion, Mud Slide Slim

• Supporting handicapped riders throughout the nation and providing financial support through our annual Money Tree Classic Charity Horse Show, started in 1985 and voted the best one-night horse show of the year, as well as being the Readers' Poll Horse Show of the Year. All the funds generated through this show and all other Auxiliary events now goes to support WHOO.

1. To increase membership by 20%.

2. To improve productivity and involvement of active membership.

3. To submit monthly articles to the Walking Horse Report to be placed in our "Women At Work" section.

4. To review, update, and get approved amended by-laws.

5. To publish and enhance our quarterly newsletter. This has been accomplished...and we love our "new" look.

6. To collaborate with the Trainers Association in developing and implementing plans for a new Trainers Office. (This is a work in progress.)

So...we need you to help us accomplish our goals and be successful. We have 13 continuous projects that need your help...please volunteer today.

In summary, our organization which began in 1971 has been successful for the past 34 years because of hard working and dedicated Auxiliary members. Join our team and be a part of our future.
